Urabá Flavor
Nowadays we’re going through a change in the perception of the world. Minorities are speaking up for their rights, women are rising around the globe for equality, and the feeling of finally achieving a great advance for everyone is stronger than ever. In this perspective, we wanted to portray stories of success, grittiness, tenacity, etc. But we wanted to make these stories very familiar, very honest, making them attainable and inspirational.
For instance, we collected various stories of women entrepreneurs in the Uraba region in Colombia, which is a country with a strong-rooted machismo in its culture, these women are transforming the appearance and giving a new taste in life for a region mired by armed conflict on its past.
In the post-conflict era in Colombia, such stories are the most needed, because it shows opportunities in our country, and can make us see and exploit differently the beauty, color, and flavors of our marvelous homeland.
Laurel Films hopes to raise additional funds for the full completion of this story, in turn, she intends to support these women facing the COVID-19 contingency. In the meantime, the reception of the documentary has been a success, organizations such as Global Women Fresh, which aims to support this documentary production, connect and inspire more women in the fight for gender equality have already joined the list.
Thanks for believing in you are giving us wings to continue telling stories of incredible women in Colombia.
