Laura Riaño is the first Colombian woman film maker who has released a feature film at 26 years old.
She studied film at the Central University of Colombia. There she wrote and directed the documentary “E.L.A.”, which was selected at the Bogoshorts 2015 festival, and began writing the first versions of what would later be her feature film.
After studying film screenwriting at the San Antonio de los Baños Cuba film school, she returned to Colombia to finish the script and began filming her feature film: “Between Us” that was selected as "National competition" at the International Film Festival of Bogotá and at the important Macondo awards.
Also, she had worked on various works: among them, the co-direction of the documentary "Faena de los Centauros", selected at the MIDBO 2018 festival and participated in the ANAFE Show during the 58th Cartagena de Indias International Festival.
Today she is working on a short film documentary in Urabá, Colombia.

Passionate about the image, Laura studied fashion photography at the Javeriana University and Zona Cinco. Her work have been published in the magazine "Toma lo Tuyo" and was awarded by "Fotográfica", a meeting held by the National Museum of Photography of Colombia and also been the photographer for the week.

Uraba Flavor
A female arrives at Urabá, a Colombian region where armed conflict was a constant issue, with the idea of starting a Candy business. Seeing the different sweet preferences of the region and all the natural resources that were being misused, like bananas, she decided to build a factory of mazamorra with banana caramel, run by women, that grew to give other business opportunities to women and a new fame to the region of Urabá.
